CR39

CR39 lenses are also known as Optilite, which is a thermosetting resin. Yet CR39 is the trading name for the lens which was originally made by P.P.G Industries in Pittsburg, USA.

To create the lens, the lenses are cast in moulds and cured. The lenses can then be optically ground to create the required prescription. CR39 lenses have good optical qualities, can be tinted and will withstand reasonable handling.

All of our CR39 lenses meet the increased robustness requirements of EN166.
